COLLECTION SYSTEM COMMITTEE

The collection system committee is responsible for helping select speakers for the AWW&WEA conference, as well as the AWEA specialty conference. The committee seeks out content relevant to collections system operators and encourages speakers to submit abstracts for each conference.

The conference committee is responsible for the planning and execution of the AWEA specialty conference held each fall.

DIGESTER COMMITTEE

The digester committee is responsible for the creation and publication of AWEA’s magazine, The Digester. Responsibilities include sourcing articles from WEF, AWEA membership, and other organizations with a focus on water. AWEA is always looking for content related to any part of the water and water reclamation industry in Arkansas.

EDUCATION & PUBLIC OUTREACH COMMITTEE

VICKI STANLEY | CHAIR | INSTRUMENT & SUPPLY, INC.

The purpose of the Education and Public Outreach Committee is to sponsor, advise and act as a resource to a statewide system of continuing education opportunities for the wastewater industry, in the State of Arkansas and to perform public outreach in the form of public speaking, leadership in children's, youth and adult environmental education and activities.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

This committee needs a chair! If you have a passion for water please contact the AWEA President to volunteer to chair the committee.

An important mission of the AWEA Government Affairs Committee is to keep you informed of legislation and regulations that may affect your facility. This Committee shall act in a liaison capacity between the Association and other public or quasi-public bodies whose objectives are similar, or who have an effect or bearing on the operations and activities of our membership.

HISTORY COMMITTEE

The history committee helps document and archive all AWEA activities such as conferences, 5S events, YP socials, etc. This committee needs a chair!

LAB / PRE-TREATMENT COMMITTEE

The Lab / Pretreatment committee is responsible for helping select speakers for the AWW&WEA conference as well as the AWEA specialty conference. The committee seeks out content relevant lab analysts and pretreatment specialists and encourages speakers to submit abstracts for each conference.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

NEWTON WHITE | CHAIR | INSTRUMENT & SUPPLY, INC.

The purpose of the membership committee is to promote active and continued membership in the Arkansas Water Environment Association (AWEA). The committee acts as a liaison between Association members and the parent organization, The Water Environment Federation (WEF). The AWEA membership committee develops programs to increase association membership and help the current members understand the benefits that are available to them through AWEA and WEF.

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS COMMITTEE

VANESSA LeBOW | GARVER USA

The purpose of the Young Professional Committee is to provide members younger than the age of 35 with tools to identify and achieve personal goals and enhance their overall professional experience. Objectives of this committee include educating members on Arkansas’ water environment, strengthening professional partnership, and encouraging professional development. This committee also strives to involve young professionals in community awareness of environmental conservation and preservation.
