COLLECTION SYSTEM CERTIFICATION
JOHHNY LUNSFORD | CHAIR | ROGERS WATER UTILITIES
The Voluntary Certification Program for Wastewater Collection System Operators has been reviewed and approved by the Association of Boards of Certification (ABC). The program will be administered by the AWEA Voluntary Certification Program Committee (VCPC).
The Voluntary Certification Program for Wastewater Collection System Operators is an AWEA sponsored; tiered; professional certification program. A Wastewater Collection System Operator prepares for and takes the appropriate level exam, beginning with the "Class 1" level, and is awarded that certification upon successful completion of the exam (a score of 70 or above) along with other requirements listed below. The individual may continue with the process, gaining practical experience and taking exams until the desired certification level is achieved, "Class 4" being the highest possible.
Once an individual is certified as a Wastewater Collection Systems Operator, they must obtain twenty-four (24) hours of continuing approved training every two (2) years to maintain their certification status, along with renewing their certification through the Voluntary Certification Program Committee. A fee of forty ($40.00) will be charged for recertification.
